Worth doing when: Worth considering for practitioners who build and evaluate RAG applications on Databricks. It matches a narrower engineering use case than a general AI foundations exam.
Skip or delay when: Skip if you do not plan to use Databricks. Learn retrieval, evaluation and data governance in your own stack first.
Good free learning option; lighter credential

Worth doing when: Useful if AWS AI concepts are new to you and a foundational exam provides motivation or an employer requirement.
Skip or delay when: Skip as a way to claim RAG expertise. It does not replace retrieval experiments, model evaluation or production implementation.
Build a retrieval system with a documented corpus, compare retrieval settings, evaluate grounded answers and show how you handle missing evidence. Record latency, costs and at least one failed answer you investigated.
Explain the problem, your decision, your test and the result. A badge can support that story; it does not establish job readiness or guarantee a salary.
